Combiners (Network Combiners)
Presentations
Rojone has designed a number of combiners to customer specifications or application requirements. Notably one of the most popular combiners is our Multi-Network combiner providing 4 Input ports and 4 Outputs together with a monitor port for in-building applications.

Multi-Network Combiners 800-2500MHz
This fully integrated Multi-Network Combiner Module was designed specifically for in-building applications. This combiner accepts up to 4 networks into a distributed antenna system and offers 4 identical RF output ports.
Particularly within in-building applications where power budget is a limiting factor, this combiner design directs all RF energy into the Distributed Antenna System instead of dissipating power through multiple stage loads. This solution allows multiple sectors to be combined into one single sector for better trunking efficiency and frequency planning.
The module’s integrated design is configurable from 1 to 4 inputs and from 1 to 4 outputs. Unused input ports are broadband terminated using low power loads; unused output ports must also be broadband terminated using high power 100 watt loads to assure optimum performance.
Installation is easy; the combiner is provided with a robust mounting flange, ideal for wall mounting. All ports are low IM Female N connectorised and are easy to access. Our combiner also features a 30dB monitor port allowing for on-line hot system testing.

High Performance Lightning Protectors with SMA interface
The Times-Protect® LP-GPX-05 high performance lightning protector series has been expanded with the availability of an SMA interface. These exceptional DC pass designs protect GPS receivers requiring up to 5Vdc power to be supplied on the center pin for L1, L2 and L3 bands. While the RF path is DC blocked, the biased DC voltage protection circuit uses state-of-the-art solid state protection technology to provide unsurpassed surge performance. The bidirectional filter based LP-GPX-05 protector with either a type N or SMA interface exhibits excellent insertion loss and return loss characteristics from 1000 to 2000 MHz. The white bronze plating on the LP-GPX-05 protector eliminates potential galvanic corrosion issues and provides long life in hostile environments. The fully weatherized housing is rated to IP65 allowing for outdoor installations.
Times-Protect® GPX-05 surge arrestors available are:
- LP-GPX-05-SFF (Bidirectional design, SMA Female/SMA Female)
- LP-GPX-05-SFM (Bidirectional design, SMA Female/SMA Male)
- LP-GPX-05-NFF (Bidirectional design, N Female/ N Female)
- LP-GPX-05-NFM (Bidirectional design, N Female/N Male)
RFoF – RF over Fibre Optic
RF over Fibre (RFoF), sometimes called RF over Glass (RFoG), is a mature technology becoming increasingly popular across many industry sectors such as Defence, Satcom, Broadcast, Infrastructure, Telecommunication and Mining.
RFoF is well suited for applications where distance or other factors become problematic with traditional coaxial cable installs. RFoF is used to connect antennas to transmission and receiving equipment. Rojone and our US partner Optical Zonu can provide a wide range of solutions from day to day in building conversion to more complex demanding solutions challenges. With a frequency range suitable for transporting across all HF, VHF, UHF, L, S, C, X, Ku, K and Ka bands (10 MHz to 40 GHz).
Advantages
The transmission of RF and Microwave Signals via waveguides or coaxial cable suffers high insertion
loss and susceptibility to interference (EMI). Single Mode RFoF transceivers provide an excellent alternative for this type of application. Fibre Optic transmission offers significant advantages for the reliable transport of RF signals in their native format over many optical networks and across a broad range of frequencies. For analogue type signals, especially at high frequencies, premium performance at high Spurious Free Dynamic Range (SFDR) is desirable.
- Less signal degradation per meter
- Higher signal carrying capacity/bandwidth
- Less costly per metre
- Lighter and thinner than traditional coaxial cable
- Free from electromagnetic interference (Poor weather does not affect signal)
- Lower transmitter launching power
Applications
- Cellular wireless
- Public safety
- Network sync
- Satellite earth stations
- Defence applications
