Mil-C-5015 Series Connectors
Developed in 1939, the Mil-C 5015 series is one of the oldest connector ranges still on the market today.  This series is classed as a general duties connector, commonly referred to as power connectors.  The contact selection accommodates a range of wire sizes #0 to #16 American wire gauges, with 6 operating voltages.

Main Characteristics – Material & Finish Aluminium alloy, olive drab.
Crimp & Solder versions are available, standard connector is screw/spin coupling although the range, part numbers suffixed with the letter “B” is a specialised 3 Lug bayonet coupling version.  This range is environmentally resistant with a temperature range -55 to +125 Degrees C.  A full range of dust caps, special contacts and back shells are also available.

MIL-C-26482 Series 1 & 2 Connectors
Series 1 MS3100 to MS3119 are solder type, cost effective, general duty connectors.  Series 2 are crimp, rear release connectors, ideal for more demanding applications requiring a higher temperature range of 175 to 200 Degrees C, fluid resistance, including the W Class with 500 hours salt spray.  There are a range of conductive & non-conductive finishes as well as hermetic sealed options.

MIL-C-38999 Series 1, 2, 3 & 4 Connectors
The Mil-C-38999 series of connectors were designed for both performance & mechanical robustness to meet a variety of demanding applications; Military, Aerospace, Ballistic Missile & Weapon Systems, and Marine Equipment.

Common features applied to the D38999 family are compact size & weight, common mounting cut-outs, standard insert arrangements.  Contacts, crimp tools, insertion/removal tools, sealing plus and assembly techniques are all standard across the whole MIL-C-38999 connector series.

The D38999 series offers excellent EMI Shielding up to 90dB, high durability with over 500 mating cycles, sine & random vibration specifications, firewall & scoop proof options.Series 1 & 2 are Bayonet coupling connectors, with Series 3 & 4 being screw coupling mating versions.

RFoF – RF over Fibre Optic

RF over Fibre (RFoF), sometimes called RF over Glass (RFoG), is a mature technology becoming increasingly popular across many industry sectors such as Defence, Satcom, Broadcast, Infrastructure, Telecommunication and Mining.

RFoF is well suited for applications where distance or other factors become problematic with traditional coaxial cable installs. RFoF is used to connect antennas to transmission and receiving equipment. Rojone and our US partner Optical Zonu can provide a wide range of solutions from day to day in building conversion to more complex demanding solutions challenges. With a frequency range suitable for transporting across all HF, VHF, UHF, L, S, C, X, Ku, K and Ka bands (10 MHz to 40 GHz).

Advantages

The transmission of RF and Microwave Signals via waveguides or coaxial cable suffers high insertion
loss and susceptibility to interference (EMI). Single Mode RFoF transceivers provide an excellent alternative for this type of application. Fibre Optic transmission offers significant advantages for the reliable transport of RF signals in their native format over many optical networks and across a broad range of frequencies. For analogue type signals, especially at high frequencies, premium performance at high Spurious Free Dynamic Range (SFDR) is desirable.

  • Less signal degradation per meter
  • Higher signal carrying capacity/bandwidth
  • Less costly per metre
  • Lighter and thinner than traditional coaxial cable
  • Free from electromagnetic interference (Poor weather does not affect signal)
  • Lower transmitter launching power

Applications

  • Cellular wireless
  • Public safety
  • Network sync
  • Satellite earth stations
  • Defence applications

Rojone and Insulated Wire incorporated Announce Distributor Agreement

We are very pleased to announce that we are the distributor for IW Microwave (IW) in Australia. From now on the complete range of IW is in Rojone’s product range. IW is a producer of high-performance cable, and cable assemblies popular for use in geophysical exploration (ground penetrating radar), as well as telecommunications, data links, satellite systems, airborne electronic warfare and countermeasures, missile systems, UAV applications, avionics and instrumentation, fire control systems, and medical electronics.

Founded in 1970, IW developed a unique PTFE lamination process and applied it to manufacturing wire and cable. This process allowed IW to manufacture products of unprecedented reliability along with smaller diameters. Combining the new lamination process along with a patented shield design allowed IW to become one of the leaders in low loss microwave transmission lines, utilizing both solid and expanded PTFE dielectrics. In 1988, IW expanded its operations and created a Microwave Products Division.

You can find further information on our websites (https://www.rojone.com.au/iw-insulated-wire/) or from the IW website (http://iw-microwave.com/)

LMR Bundled Cable

LMR Bundled Cable

Times Microwave Systems specialises in the design & manufacture of high performance flexible, Low Loss, standard coaxial M17 cable, for RF transmission from HF through to Microwave frequencies DC to 46GHz.

As the exclusive Australian Agent Rojone is pleased to announce the introduction of LMR® Bundled Cable this is a spiral configuration of multiple LMR®-400 or smaller LMR® cables under a common polyethylene outer jacket. This innovative design acts as the perfect feeder cable for applications requiring multiple runs, such as on towers or building top sites. A unique, patented grounding fixture grounds the outer shields of each cable and a rugged end cap seals the bundle to prevent moisture ingress at the break-out point.

LMR © Bundled Cable can be supplied as complete assembly with break outs and connectors on both ends, and as a single ended assembly (base can be trimmed and terminated after installation on tower), or as a raw cable and accessories along with easy to use tools. Pictorial instructions and installation videos are available to assist in the installation of the accessories.

Features and Benefits:

  • Less Cable Runs
  • Fewer Ground Kits and Cable Clamps to Install
  • Reduced Labour and Material Costs
  • Rip cord for easy removal of outer jacket
  • Inner cables labelled with an identifier every six inches

Standard Cables Include:

  • LMR-BC240-4
  • LMR-BC300-12
  • LMR-BC240-9
  • LMR-BC400-7
  • LMR-BC240-9-LW-75
  • LMR-BC400-9
  • LMR-BC-240-12
  • LMR-BC400-9-DB

EC-BC Series End Cap Kits

Times Microwave Systems offers weather seal break out caps for a number of the LMR bundled cables. These kits consist of a hard ABS plastic split shell with stainless steel screws, a silicone rubber split cushion and a silicone rubber gasket. The split cushion is formed over the inner cables and the shell is then positioned over the transition so that the end of the outer jacket of the cable is roughly in the middle of the shell.

Times Protect® LP-18-400-N Series

LP-18-400-NCable Connector and Lightning Protector in One!

The Times Protect® LP-18-400-N series is an exceptional in-line broadband DC pass surge protection design incorporating lightning protection circuitry and the EZ-400-X series crimp style connector interface unit. This combination allowing the in-line surge protector to be attached directly to the LMR®-400 cable eliminates the cable connector needed when using conventional lightning protectors. The LP-18-400-N series protectors exhibit outstanding RF performance over the entire frequency spectrum from DC through 6000MHz and the elimination of the extra connector further reduces return loss, insertion loss and lowers cost. In addition, its fully weatherised housing meets the IP-67 standard for outdoor as well as indoor installation.

LP-18-400-N Series:

LP-18-400-NF-X (150W)
N Female connector on one side and EZ-400-X crimp style interface on the other side – bidirectional

LP-18-400-NMH-X (150W)
N Male connector on one side and EZ-400-X crimp style interface on the other side – bidirectional

The LP-18-400-N series protectors install easily onto LMR®-400 cable using the standard CST-400 prep tool and either the CT-400/300 crimp tool or the HX-4 crimp handle with the Y1719 (0.429”) hex dies.
